Entry requirements
GCSE: English and mathematics at grade C or 4 or above. UCAS tariff: 104 UCAS points. A level: Two full A-levels required as a minimum, including Grade C in Biology or Chemistry and a total of 104 UCAS points minimum. BTEC: Grade DMM required from Science-based BTEC including Biology or Chemistry units T level: Overall M required from T-Levels, following subjects are accepted: Science only Scottish Highers: Two Scottish Higher Levels required, including Biology or Chemistry. IB: 30 points overall, including Grade 4 in Higher Level Biology or Chemistry. Must have passed the full International Baccalaureate to be considered. Irish Leaving Certificate: Two Higher Levels required, including Biology or Chemistry. Access to HE: 104-112 UCAS points from a QAA Approved programme with science content (i.e. Biology, Chemistry) at Level 3.
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry. Core topics include Laboratory Techniques, Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, and Fieldwork. The degree is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, with Advanced Degree Accreditation available through an optional placement year. The programme culminates in a Final Year Project involving independent research.
