Entry requirements

UCAS tariff: 128 UCAS points. If you are applying for September 2027, the entry requirements will be 120 UCAS points. A level: Two full A-levels required as a minimum, to include Grade B in Maths and an E in a numerate science (Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Design Technology, Computer Science and Statistics). BTEC: Grade DDM required from Engineering or Applied Science. Not accepted: Electrical Engineering Aviation Operations T level: Grade D. Must be in one of the following subjects: Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing Maintenance. Installation and Repair for Engineering. Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control If you are applying for September 2027, the entry requirements will be grade M.

About this course

MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, combining engineering design with systems thinking and advanced simulation techniques. Core topics include Control Systems, Systems Design, Mathematical Modelling, Laboratory Techniques, Engineering Design, Programming, and Project Management. The programme is accredited by the Royal An aeronautical Society under licence from the Engineering Council. An individual research project runs in the final year, and an optional industrial placement is available.
