BSc Sound Engineering and Production
Entry requirements
GCSE: In addition to Level 3 requirements, you must have evidence of Level 2 GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above. UCAS tariff: 112 UCAS points. A level: 112 points. Two full A-levels required as a minimum, to include Grade C in a technical or scientific subject e.g. Maths, Physics, Music Technology, IT or Electronics. If you have not studied any of the above specified subjects, you may still be considered if you meet the tariff points and are able to show evidence of keen interest or practical experience in audio or audio production-related fields in your personal statement. BTEC: DMM. Required from a technical or scientific subject e.g. Maths, Physics, Music Technology, IT or Electronics or similar. E.g. BTEC in Music Technology or Music Production. T level: Accepted at grade Merit from the below subjects; you must also show experience and/or genuine interest in audio or audio production related fields in your personal statement. Business and Administration or Construction and the Built Environment (Building Services Engineering for Construction, Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction). Creative and Design (Craft and Design, Media Broadcast and Production). Digital (Digital Data Analytics, Digital Software Development, Digital Support and Security). Engineering and Manufacturing (Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control). Access to HE: 112 UCAS points from a QAA-approved Science or technical programme. IB: 28 points including Grade 5 in Higher Level technical or scientific subject (for example, Physics, Music Technology, IT or Electronics).
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Business and Supply Chain Management. Core topics include programming, systems design, circuit design, signal processing, and fieldwork. The programme holds JAMES accreditation from the Joint Audio Media Education Services. A supervised major project in the final year allows independent investigation into an agreed topic.
