About this course
BEng in Chemical Engineering BEng, a chemical engineering degree centred on industrial process design, manufacturing systems, and chemical transformations. Core topics include Programming, Control Systems, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Ethics & Professional Practice, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The curriculum includes a final-year design project focused on industrial process development and problem-solving. The first year covers foundational principles through Chemical Engineering Principles, Fundamental Science and Skills, Engineering with Living Systems, Thermo and Fluid Dynamics, and Mathematics (Chemical). The second year advances into Process Control, Reaction Engineering 1, Data Driven Engineering, Process and Product Design, Maths, Design & Digital Skills, and Mass Transfer and Separation Processes. The third year comprises compulsory modules in Systems for Sustainability, Process Design Project, Reaction Engineering 2, and Transport Phenomena. Students may also select optional modules such as Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
