About this course
BSc in Chemistry BSc, a chemistry degree centred on fundamental principles, practical methodologies and molecular systems. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Laboratory Techniques, and Critical & Analytical Thinking. The programme is accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry. The first year establishes core foundations through modules such as Fundamentals of Chemistry 1, Fundamentals of Chemistry 2, Essential Skills for Chemists, and The chemical world around us: from biological chemistry to sustainability, introducing key practical techniques and academic skills. The second year progresses to advanced practical work, structural reactivity, and measurement through Chemistry Lab and Skills, Chemical Structure and Reactivity, Measurement and Modelling of Chemical Systems, and Further Core Chemistry, alongside optional study in Biological Chemistry or Introduction to Sustainable Chemistry. The final year focuses on advanced theoretical and experimental concepts via Mathematical and Physical Sciences Projects and Professional Skills, Advanced Organic Chemistry, Advanced Physical Chemistry, and Advanced Inorganic Chemistry, complemented by optional modules such as Sustainable Energy Technologies and Systems, Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology, and Digital Chemistry.
