About this course
BSc in Economics BSc, an economics degree centred on methodological training and quantitative analysis of economic issues and policy. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Accounting, Marketing, Policy Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme equips students with rigorous analytical skills for evaluating economic phenomena and real-world outcomes. The first year establishes foundational knowledge through compulsory modules such as Microeconomic Analysis and Policy, Macroeconomic Analysis and Policy, Statistical Methods for Economics, and Mathematical Methods for Economics 2. During this introductory stage, students also choose optional subjects like Introductory Finance for Economics and Economic History of Britain and the Modern World. The second year advances core competencies via modules including Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and Applied Econometrics, alongside optional studies such as Industrial Organisation and Labour Economics. In the final stage, students undertake a compulsory Economics UG Dissertation to complete an independent supervised research project.
