About this course

MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering MEng, an Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree centred on the study of modern electrical power, communication, and electronic systems. Core topics include Circuit Design, Microelectronics, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Control Systems, and Computer Architecture. Students complete a series of practical group projects and an individual engineering project under academic supervision. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Electric and Magnetic Circuits, Analogue and Digital Electronics, and Engineering Modelling and Mathematics. The second year progresses to topics like Control and Communication Systems, Applied Engineering Mathematics, and Electrical Energy Conversion. Later stages involve multidisciplinary group work alongside core studies in areas such as Energy Systems and Power Electronics and Electromagnetic Fields and Devices. Optional modules and fourth-year choices allow specialisation in subjects like Machine Learning and Optimisation, Digital Signal Processing, and Advanced Machines and Actuators.
