About this course

BA in English and Philosophy, a joint honours degree in English and Philosophy spanning literature, language, and philosophical inquiry. Core topics include Critical & Analytical Thinking and Research Methods. Students can also choose modules from outside these subjects during the first year. The first year introduces foundational study through Renaissance to Revolution: Early Modern Literature, Writing Revolutions: Restoration to Romanticism, Sounds and Structures of English, Linguistic Theory, Writing Philosophy, and Reason and Argument. The second year progresses through Romantics, Victorians and Moderns (a), Phonetics, First Language Acquisition, Ethics: From Theory to Practice, and Philosophy of the Arts.
