About this course
BSc in Mathematics and Philosophy, a Mathematics and Philosophy degree centred on abstract problems and logical reasoning. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The first year covers the foundations through Introduction to University Mathematics, Geometry, Matrices and Multivariate Calculus, Foundations of Pure Mathematics, Writing Philosophy, and Reason and Argument. The second year progresses with Core Mathematics I, Core Mathematics II, Formal Logic, and Knowing and Being. In the final year, students complete the Mathematical and Physical Sciences Projects and Professional Skills module. Optional modules across the course allow specialisation in areas such as pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, and various philosophical traditions.
