About this course

BSc in Mathematics BSc, a Mathematics degree focused on foundational and advanced mathematical concepts. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Laboratory Techniques, Communication & Writing, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students can tailor their studies to individual career goals across the duration of the programme. The first year covers core foundations through Introduction to University Mathematics, Geometry, Matrices and Multivariate Calculus, Foundations of Pure Mathematics, and Probability and Data Science, alongside optional choices in investigation skills and modelling. The second year progresses with Core Mathematics I, Core Mathematics II, Statistical Inference and Modelling, and Differential equations, with further options in abstract algebra, stochastic modelling, and Python-based scientific data processing. The final year centres on the Mathematical and Physical Sciences Projects and Professional Skills module, complemented by a wide array of specialised optional modules covering topology, financial stochastic processes, medical statistics, quantum theory, and machine learning.
