About this course
BEng in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering, a robotics engineering degree focusing on the design and implementation of intelligent mechanical and electronic systems. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Control Systems, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Engineering Design, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students complete a major individual project to demonstrate bachelor-level engineering competence under academic supervision. The first year covers core fundamentals through modules such as Group Project and Engineering Skills, Engineering Modelling and Mathematics, System Analysis and Machine Learning, Electric and Magnetic Circuits, and Analogue and Digital Electronics. The second year progresses to applied topics including Industrial and Design Projects, Control and Communication Systems, Applied Engineering Mathematics, Embedded Systems Engineering, Robot Foundations, and Robot Statics and Dynamics. Final-stage studies incorporate compulsory and optional focus areas such as Industrial Automation and Digitalisation, Machine Learning and Optimisation, Robotic Systems, Space Systems and Spacecraft Design, and Digital Signal Processing.
