About this course
BMedSci in Speech and Language Therapy Training, a paramedic science degree centred on clinical methods, biomedical science, and speech and language therapy practice across the human lifespan. Core topics include Clinical Skills, Research Methods, Statistics, Data Analysis, and Ethics & Professional Practice. Students undertake NHS clinical placements throughout the curriculum and complete a clinical dissertation in the final year. The first year covers foundational subjects through SLT Professional Practice 1, SLT Biomedical Science, and SLT Introduction to Practical Linguistics. The second year progresses to advanced theory and practice via Professional Practice 2, SLT Key Clinical Topics 1, and SLT Research Methods and Statistics. The third and final year consolidates clinical competencies and prepares graduates for independent practice through SLT Professional Practice 3, SLT Key Clinical Topics 2, and SLT Evaluating the evidence base in speech and language therapy II. Clinical dissertation.
