About this course
Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology and Anthropology with Year Abroad, an anthropology and archaeology degree centred on global human diversity and material culture. Core topics include Research Methods, Fieldwork, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students spend a designated year studying abroad at an international partner institution. The first year builds foundations through Archaeological Methods for Fieldwork and Analysis, Exploring Other Cultures, Fieldwork and Practice, and Introduction to Global Prehistory: Deconstructing the Emergence of Civilisation. The second year continues with An Anthropology of Everything, Contemporary Issues and Debates in Archaeology, Fieldwork and Practice, and Researching Archaeology, alongside preparation for the international study period. The final year focuses on an independent Archaeology Dissertation. Optional modules across the programme allow students to explore diverse topics such as Human Origins, Bones, Bodies and Burials: osteology and comparative anatomy, Molecular Archaeology, and GIS for Archaeology.
