A level: ABB including an accepted subject (minimum grade B) IB: Pass, with 32 points overall with 16 points required at Higher Level including a minimum of 5 at Higher Level in an accepted science subject.
About this course
Bachelor of Science in Audiology, a physics degree focused on the scientific and clinical foundations of hearing assessment and rehabilitation. Core topics include Research Methods, Clinical Skills, Ethics & Professional Practice. Students complete 27 weeks of clinical placement and have opportunities to register as a Hearing Care Assistant after the first year, with accreditation provided by the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists and recognition as a Practitioner Training Programme. The first year covers foundational concepts through Introduction to Hearing Science and Technology, Biopsychosocial Basis of Audiology, and Audiology Clinical Placement 1, introducing healthcare services and professional standards. The second year progresses with Audiology Clinical Placement 2, Experimental audiology research (EAR) methods, and Facilitating Effective Auditory Rehabilitation 1, alongside optional choices such as Behavioural Neuroscience or Perception. The final year involves advanced clinical training through Audiology Clinical Placement 3 and Clinical and Professional Practice in Audiology 3, culminating in the compulsory Individual Project and optional modules like Introduction to Paediatric Audiology.
