About this course
Bachelor of Science in Cardiac Physiology (Healthcare Science), a cancer sciences degree focused on diagnostic testing, patient assessment, and clinical practice. Core topics include Clinical Skills, Research Methods, and Ethics & Professional Practice. Students undertake clinical placements in hospital departments throughout the duration of the programme. The first year covers health science foundations through compulsory modules such as Anatomy and Physiology, Scientific Basis of Cardiovascular/Respiratory and Sleep Science (Part 1), and Introduction to Professional Practice. The second year introduces specialized study via modules including Non-Invasive Cardiac Physiology and Placement 2 (Clinical Portfolio). The final year advances into complex practice through modules such as Invasive Cardiac Physiology and Leadership and Innovation in Healthcare, alongside a Research Project conducted within an NHS setting.
