About this course

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Digital Methods and Computational Modelling), a chemistry degree focused on computational techniques, data science, and molecular simulation. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Laboratory Techniques, and Research Methods. Students complete an individual research project as part of their studies. The first year establishes fundamental concepts through Foundations of Chemistry I, Foundations of Chemistry II, Mathematical and Analytical Methods in Chemistry I, and Practical Chemistry I. The second year introduces computer coding and numerical techniques via Advanced Chemistry I, Advanced Chemistry II, Introduction to Programming, Mathematical Methods in Chemistry II, and Practical Chemistry II. The final year focuses on advanced concepts and applications through Advanced Practical Skills in Chemistry, Frontiers in Inorganic Chemistry, Frontiers in Organic Chemistry, Frontiers in Physical Chemistry, and Simulation Methods in Chemistry. Optional modules in the final year include Advanced Characterisation Techniques, Medicinal Chemistry III, Principles, Techniques, and Applications of Electrochemistry, Sustainable Chemistry, and Synthetic Methods in Organic Chemistry.
