About this course
Bachelor of Science in Economics and Actuarial Science, an economics and accounting and finance degree centred on the intersection of economic theory and risk assessment methods. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Financial Analysis, Accounting, and Policy Analysis. The course is accredited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, providing eligibility for the maximum number of core principle exemptions available on any undergraduate programme. The first year covers foundational concepts through Economics with Data, Linear Algebra I, Mathematics for Economics, and Principles of Macroeconomics. The second year progresses with Econometric Theory, Econometrics with Big Data, Financial Mathematics, and Intermediate Macroeconomics. Optional modules in the final year allow specialisation in areas such as Actuarial Mathematics I, Computational Economics, and Survival Models, alongside independent study options like Dissertation: Research Project.
