About this course
Bachelor of Arts in Economics, an economics degree centred on empirical data analysis and policy evaluation within social contexts. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Policy Analysis, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Global & Comparative Perspective. The curriculum provides an opportunity to undertake a Year in Employment following the second year, or a semester abroad during the final year. The first year covers foundational concepts through Economics with Data, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Principles of Mathematics for Economics. The second year progresses with Applied Economics, Macroeconomic Policy, Microeconomics of Public Policy, and ECON Dissertation: Prelim Info. Optional modules in the second and third years allow students to explore areas such as development economics, game theory, financial economics, and environmental economics. The final year centres on independent research through Dissertation: Literature Review and Dissertation: Policy Project, alongside professional skills training in Economics Skills and Employability 3.
