About this course
Bachelor of Arts in Geography, a geography degree centred on human-environment relationships, spatial organisation, and environmental processes. Core topics include Fieldwork and Social & Cultural Analysis. Students complete an individual research project in their final year and take part in residential field research during the first year. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as A Global World, Dynamic Landscapes, The Earth System, and First Year Fieldcourse, introducing both physical and human environments. The second year builds core analytical abilities with compulsory modules including Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Researching Human Geography, while offering optional modules such as Gender and Society and Urban Geography. In the final year, students undertake an Individual Project alongside optional studies in areas such as Global Health, Migration and Development, and River Basin Management and Restoration.
