About this course

Bachelor of Science in Geography, a geography degree centred on the scientific and analytical study of physical and human systems. Core topics include Fieldwork. The course integrates classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, and fieldwork to investigate environmental change and earth surface processes. The first year establishes fundamental concepts through compulsory modules such as A Global World, Dynamic Landscapes, Exploring Urban and Natural Environments, and First Year Fieldcourse. In the second year, students build technical abilities with compulsory studies including Exploring Physical Environments: Overseas Fieldcourse, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Remote Sensing for Earth Observation. Optional modules in the second and third years allow students to explore topics like Economic Geography, Freshwater Ecosystems, Global Climate Change: Science, Impacts and Policy, and Glaciers in a Changing Climate. The final year culminates in an independent research project where students apply accumulated knowledge and technical skills.
