About this course

Bachelor of Arts in Language, Culture and Communication, an undergraduate degree centred on English Language and Linguistics and Modern Languages. Core topics include Research Methods, Human Behaviour, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students may choose to study one or two languages from a beginner level during the programme. The first year covers foundational subjects through Academic Skills for Modern languages and Linguistics Students, Introduction to French and Francophone Studies, Introduction to German Studies, and Introduction to Language, Culture and Communication. The second year examines anthropological concepts and methods through Learning about Culture: Introduction to Ethnography and Researching Language, Culture and Communication in the Global World, alongside optional choices spanning linguistics, media, and culture. The final year focuses on advanced communication and independent research through Digital Media, Language and Communication and Languages, Cultures and Linguistics Dissertation, complemented by optional modules such as Audiovisual Translation and Second Language Acquisition.
