About this course
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics, a mathematics, operational research, statistics and economics degree centred on combining mathematics, statistics, operational research and economics. Core topics include Programming, Signal Processing, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Environmental Analysis, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The three-year programme includes a compulsory independent project in the final year. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Calculus I, Calculus II, Computational Mathematics, Introduction to Statistics, and Principles of Macroeconomics, alongside optional microeconomics modules. The second year progresses with compulsory study in Analysis, Econometrics with Big Data, Introduction to Operational Research, Partial Differential Equations, Statistical Inference, and Statistical Modelling I, while offering optional modules like Algorithms, Dynamic Macroeconomics, Introduction to Management, Operations Management, and Stochastic Processes. The final year comprises compulsory modules in Mathematical Programming, Mathematics Project, and Principles of Finance. Students can tailor their degree through a wide variety of optional modules spanning Advanced Partial Differential Equations, Complex Analysis, Design and Analysis of Experiments, Further Number Theory and Cryptography, Futures and Options, Hilbert Spaces, International Banking, Machine Learning, Numerical Methods, Numerical Partial Differential Equations, Optimization, Project Management, Relativity, Black Holes and Cosmology, Statistical Modelling II, Structure and Dynamics of Networks, Survival Models, and Topics in Macroeconomics.
