About this course

Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, a mechanical engineering degree centred on mathematical and computational approaches to physical theory. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Control Systems, Data Analysis, Mathematical Modelling, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Engineering Design, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This four-year integrated master's programme incorporates both an individual research project in the third year and a group design project in the final year. The first year covers core foundations through modules such as An Introduction to Engineering Design, Data Science and Computing for Engineers, and ThermoFluids. The second year progresses into specialized technical concepts through Electronics and Control, Fluid Mechanics, and Mechanics, Machines and Vibration. In the third year, compulsory study includes Engineering Design with Management, Finite Element Analysis in Solid Mechanics, and Heat Transfer and Applications, alongside an Individual Project. The final year centres on advanced application via modules such as Group Design Project and Materials, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management. Students can tailor their studies by choosing from optional modules spanning areas like Automotive Chassis and Powertrain, Control and Instrumentation, Applied Matrices for Computation and Machine Learning, and Introduction to Machine Learning.
