About this course

Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics, a mechanical engineering and robotics engineering degree focusing on the integration of mechanical devices and electrical systems. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Control Systems, Data Analysis, Mathematical Modelling, Accounting, and Engineering Design. This four-year integrated master's programme offers an optional work placement year and concludes with a major group design project. The first year covers foundational principles through modules such as An Introduction to Engineering Design, Data Science and Computing for Engineers, Electrical and Electronics Systems, and Mechanical Systems Analysis. The second year progresses into advanced mechanics and electronics with Electronics and Control, Engineering Management and Law, Mechanics, Machines and Vibration, and Systems Design and Computing. The third year deepens technical expertise through Automotive Mechatronics, Control and Instrumentation, Finite Element Analysis in Solid Mechanics, and an Individual Project. The final fourth year consolidates advanced professional skills via Advanced Electrical Systems, Advanced Sensors and Condition Monitoring, Group Design Project, and Manufacturing and Materials, while offering optional modules such as Active Control of Sound and Vibration, Applications of Renewable Energy, Storage and Nuclear Energy, Automotive Propulsion, and Intelligent Mobile Robotics.
