About this course

Integrated Masters degree in Science in Neuroscience, a biomedical science degree centred on the study of brain development, structure, and function. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes an individual research project in the final year and offers options for an industrial placement year or a semester abroad. The first year covers foundational concepts through Chemistry of Life, Fundamentals of Biochemistry, and The Human Genome and Disease. The second year increases specialisation with modules such as Flow of Genetic Information, Immunology, Infection and Inflammation, and Neuroscience, alongside optional modules like Bioinformatics and Pharmacology. The third year advances into targeted areas with Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience and Pharmacology of Neuropsychiatric Disorders, alongside various optional research and laboratory modules. The fourth year focuses on advanced study and project work through Advanced Neuroscience, Current Research, and an Advanced Research Project, supported by further options including Skills in Molecular Bioscience and Systems Neuroscience.
