About this course
Master of Nursing in Nursing (Adult and Child), a nursing (adult) and nursing (child) degree spanning four years of professional healthcare education. Core topics include Research Methods, Clinical Skills, Ethics & Professional Practice. Graduates gain eligibility to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as both a Registered Nurse (Adult) and a Registered Nurse (Child) across multiple clinical settings. The first year establishes fundamental knowledge through Anatomy and Physiology, Applied physical health and pharmacology, and Fundamental Health Assessment for adults alongside introductory professional practice and early clinical placements. The second year examines broader health contexts and acute situations via Epidemiology, global and public health, Health Assessment and Acute Deterioration in Adults, Palliative and End of Life Care, and Research Methods for Nursing. The third year addresses advanced topics through Complex Care and Multimorbidity, Leadership and Innovation in Healthcare, and a Student Led Project, complemented by optional studies in areas such as Primary Care and Community Nursing or Urgent, Unscheduled and Critical Care. The final fourth year concentrates on specialised paediatric and service enhancement through Health Assessment and Acute Deterioration in Children and Young People and Service Improvement Project alongside advanced clinical placements.
