About this course
Master of Nursing in Nursing (Mental Health and Adult), a nursing degree in Nursing (Adult) and Nursing (Mental Health) focusing on combined nursing practice across both specialisms. Core topics include Research Methods, Clinical Skills, Ethics & Professional Practice. Students undertake practice placements in hospital and community settings across multiple trusts in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, alongside simulated practice and clinical skills teaching. Following the first year, the curriculum continues with further core studies. The first year introduces foundational concepts through Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamentals of health and care across the life course, Introduction to Professional Practice, and Working in Partnership in Mental Health Nursing. The second year advances learning with Epidemiology, global and public health, Inclusion Health and Care in Clinical Practice, Psychosocial Interventions in Mental Health Nursing, and Research Methods for Nursing. The third year covers Leadership and Innovation in Healthcare, Parity of Esteem: Bridging Physical and Emotional Care, Primary Care and Community Nursing, and Student Led Project. The final year concludes with advanced studies including Complex Care and Multimorbidity (MSc), Health Assessment and Acute Deterioration in Adults (MSc), Palliative and End of Life Care, and Service Improvement Project.
