Entry requirements
A level: Our standard offer is BBC at A-level or equivalent qualification, we also consider grades of comparable value and offer on these taking into account the suitability of the portfolio submission for the intended course. IB: Pass, with 28 points overall with 14 points at Higher Level.
About this course
Bachelor of Arts in Product Design, a product design degree focused on the creation of physical and digital objects through studio-led methods. Core topics include Ethics & Professional Practice. Students undertake studio projects supported by workshop access and maker labs, culminating in independent final design work. The first year establishes foundational competencies through modules such as Contexts and Cultures of Product Design, Critical Issues in Product Design, Design Skills and Practices, and Introduction to Product Design, addressing histories, circular systems, technical drawing, and materiality. The second year progresses into applied contexts through Design for Communities, Design for Innovation: Skills, Technology, and Industry, and Professional Practice and Industry Contexts, alongside optional collaborative briefs including Collaborate (B), Collaborate (A), and Collaborate (C). The final year concentrates on career preparation, external collaboration, and independent realisation through Design Identity and Professional Directions, Design for All: External Projects, Final Design Project 1, Final Design Project 2, and Professional Planning (Product Design).
