Entry requirements
UCAS Points: 104 (or above) Typical qualification requirements: A Level: BCC to exclude General Studies Welsh BACC: Grade C and BC at A Level to exclude General Studies BTEC: BTEC Extended Diploma Distinction Merit Merit Access to HE: Must complete 60 credits overall with at least 45 at level 3 and 15 at Level 2. Of the 45 credits at level 3, you will need a minimum of 18 Distinctions, 18 Merits and 9 passes. Additional requirements include: All applicants are required to attend an interview. One satisfactory reference from someone who is able to comment on your attitude and approach to learning in a professional or academic sense. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the Child & Adult Workforce and Child & Adult Barring List and subscription to the DBS Update Service is required. Applicants must have their employer’s support to apply for this course, as students are expected to study for 23 hours per week. HEIW provides funding to cover 16 hours of backfill, while the employer is responsible for the remaining 7 hours. A satisfactory medical will be required once an offer has been made. We will contact you closer to your start date with details of how to obtain these. A GCSE in Maths at grade C/4 or above, or Level 2 Essential Skills in Maths, is mandatory and non-negotiable. Equivalent qualifications considered are Essential Skills Level Two in Communication and Application of Number, or Functional Skills Level Two in English and Mathematics. (Must have been achieved since 2016)

BSc (Hons) in Nursing (Mental Health). This 4-year part-time programme is designed for experienced healthcare support workers (HCSWs) to qualify as Registered Nurses while maintaining their current employment.
