About this course
MBiol (Honours) in Biology, a biology degree spanning molecular biology, organismal life, and ecological systems. Core topics include Research Methods. The five-year programme combines undergraduate and postgraduate study to culminate in a Masters qualification. The first year covers molecular, cellular, and organismal biology through Biology 1 and Biology 2. The second year examines specific areas through compulsory modules such as Animal Behaviour, Biochemistry, Ecology, and Research Methods in Biology. The third year advances knowledge via modules including Evolution, Genes, Cells and Development, and Quantitative Ecology. The final year involves specialised study through advanced options such as Molecular Virology, Animal Cognition, and The CRISPR system for Antiviral Defence and Genome Engineering.
