About this course
MMath (Honours) in Mathematics, a physics and mathematics degree combining undergraduate and postgraduate study into a five-year programme. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, and Mathematical Modelling. This five-year master's degree is accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. The first year covers foundational ideas through Mathematics, followed by a second year focusing on Abstract Algebra, Analysis, Combinatorics and Probability, and Linear Mathematics. Additional second-year study includes Mathematical Modelling, Multivariate Calculus, Statistical Inference, and Vector Calculus. Later stages offer advanced modules such as Bayesian Inference, Dynamical Systems, Fractal Geometry, and Solar Theory. Students can further explore topics like Techniques of Applied Mathematics, Topology, Advanced Data Analysis, and Advanced Group Theory.
