About this course
BSc (Honours) in Physics, a physics degree focused on the fundamental principles of the discipline. Core topics include Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Laboratory Techniques. The programme is accredited by the Institute of Physics for the UK and Ireland. The first year covers foundational concepts through Mathematics, Physics 1A, and Physics 1B, introducing mechanics, waves, optics, and quantum physics. The second year builds upon this with Linear Mathematics, Multivariate Calculus, Physics 2A, and Physics 2B, extending into thermal physics, special relativity, and electromagnetism. Later stages offer a broad range of optional study areas such as electronics, quantum mechanics, thermal and statistical physics, advanced quantum mechanics, and atomic, nuclear, and particle physics.
