About this course
BSc (Honours) in Statistics, a mathematics and statistics degree focused on collecting, analysing and presenting numerical data. Core topics include Statistics and Mathematical Modelling. The degree is taught over four years full time. The first year covers foundational ideas through Mathematics. The second year introduces core concepts through modules such as Abstract Algebra, Analysis, Combinatorics and Probability, Linear Mathematics, Multivariate Calculus, and Statistical Inference. Further study incorporates advanced topics such as Bayesian Inference, Classical Statistical Inference, Computing in Statistics, Markov Chains and Processes, and Sampling Theory, alongside higher-level module options.
