About this course
MA (Honours) in Statistics, a mathematics and statistics degree focused on collecting, analysing and presenting numerical data. Core topics include Statistics, Mathematical Modelling. The course spans four years of full-time study, allowing specialisation in statistical theory and its applications. The first year covers foundational concepts through Mathematics. The second year builds core analytical skills with Abstract Algebra, Analysis, Combinatorics and Probability, Linear Mathematics, Multivariate Calculus, and Statistical Inference. Later years incorporate advanced study areas such as Bayesian Inference, Classical Statistical Inference, Computing in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, and Sampling Theory. Students can further tailor their studies through a range of advanced 3000-level, 4000-level, and 5000-level modules in mathematics and statistics.
