Entry requirements
The standard entry requirements for this course are as follows: One of the following accepted full Level 3 qualifications: Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (Level 3 or 4) or EU/International Foundation equivalent Merit, Pass, Pass (MPP) at BTEC Extended Diploma (preferred subjects include Art, Art and Design or Design and Technology) Pass at UAL Extended Diploma Access to Higher Education Diploma equivalent to 64 UCAS tariff points (preferred subjects include Art, Art and Design or Design and Technology) And three GCSE passes at grade 4 or above (grade A*–C). Entry to this course will also be determined by assessment of your portfolio. This course accepts A-levels and the International Baccalaureate only in combination with a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design or equivalent one-year intensive art and design or fashion-related course. These courses enable students to develop relevant skills, and a strong academic practice base for the study of Art and Design. UAL does not have any preference for where to study a Foundation course; however, to find out more about studying a Foundation at UAL, please see UAL's Foundation Diploma in Art and Design , a part of our School of Pre-Degree Studies . AP(E)L – Accreditation of Prior (Experiential) Learning Exceptionally applicants who do not meet these course entry requirements may still be considered. The course team will consider each application that demonstrates additional strengths and alternative evidence. This might, for example, be demonstrated by: Related academic or work experience The quality of the personal statement A strong academic or other professional reference Or a combination of these factors. Each application will be considered on its own merit but we cannot guarantee an offer in each case. English language requirements IELTS score of 6.0 or above, with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking (please check our main English language requirements webpage ).
About this course
BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, offering pathways in Womenswear, Menswear, Knit, Print, and Communication. The programme runs for three years full-time or four years full-time with a Diploma in Professional Studies. Students examine the intersection of fashion, textile design, and art while exploring sustainable production methods.
