Entry requirements

A level: A*AA (Mathematics and one other Science is required.) IB: 39 points (A total of 19 points in three higher level subjects, to include 6 in Mathematics and one other Science, with no higher level score below 5. The programme will accept either ‘Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches’ or ‘Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation’ at higher level.)

About this course

BASc in Arts and Sciences (Sciences and Engineering), an undergraduate degree within UCL Arts and Sciences centred on multidisciplinary study. Core topics include Data Analysis, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Design & Creative Practice, and Social & Cultural Analysis. The curriculum includes a third-year consultancy project and offers a final-year dissertation alongside study abroad options. The first year covers introductory concepts through compulsory modules such as Approaches to Knowledge: Introduction to Interdisciplinarity, Interdisciplinary Research Methods, Quantitative Methods and Mathematical Thinking, and Mathematical Methods for Arts and Sciences. Students also choose optional modules spanning material culture, design, and computation. The second year features compulsory study in framing interdisciplinary knowledge alongside a range of optional subjects including data science, cultural analysis, and languages. The final year centres on the compulsory module The Knowledge Economy: Consultancy Project, with options to complete a dissertation or creative practice dissertation.
