About this course

MSci in Biochemistry, a biochemistry degree focused on molecular biosciences and biological systems. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, and Research Methods. The fourth year involves an extended independent investigative project within a research group. The first year covers foundational concepts through Biochemistry 1, Foundations of Life, and Year 1: Foundations of Programming and Data Handling. The second year progresses to study Microbial Metabolism and its Regulation, Eukaryotic Metabolism and Regulation, and Molecular Biology, alongside optional subjects such as Physical Chemistry for Life Sciences. The third year offers advanced study with optional modules including Mechanisms of Molecular Machines and Computational and Systems Biology, alongside the Advanced Investigative Project in Molecular Biosciences. The final year centres on advanced research training and execution through modules such as Molecular Biosciences MSci Research Techniques, MSci Investigative Project in Molecular Biosciences, and MSci Extended Research Project in Molecular Biosciences.
