Entry requirements
A level: AAA (Biology and Chemistry required, plus Mathematics preferred.) IB: 38 points (A total of 18 points in three higher level subjects to include 6 in both Biology and Chemistry, plus Mathematics preferred, with no higher level score below 5. For Mathematics, the course will accept either ‘Analysis and Approaches’ or ‘Applications and Interpretation’ at higher level.)
About this course
BSc in Biomedical Sciences, a biology degree focused on the medical applications of cell and molecular biology. Core topics include Programming. Students choose one of five specialist pathways consisting of Cells and Molecules, Control Systems, Developmental Biology, Drug Mechanisms, and Organs and Systems. The first year establishes core scientific foundations through compulsory study of Foundations of Life, Organisms, Evolution and Ecology, Year 1: Fundamental Scientific Skills and Grand Challenges, Year 1: Foundations of Programming and Data Handling, Molecular Cell Biology, Cells to Organisms, Fundamentals of Pharmacology, and Mammalian Physiology.
