About this course
MSci in Chemistry with Study Abroad, a chemistry degree centred on core chemical principles combined with international study. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, and Research Methods. Students spend the third year abroad at a partner institution in regions such as Australia, Canada, the USA, New Zealand, or Singapore, and complete an advanced research project in the final year. The first year covers foundational concepts through Chemical Foundations, Chemical Skills, Basic Organic Chemistry, and Basic Inorganic Chemistry. The second year progresses to core modules including Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. The third year consists entirely of study abroad modules designated for international placement. The final year centers on the Advanced Chemical Research Project, alongside optional choices such as Topics in Modern Chemistry and Advanced Topics in Environmental and Energy Materials.
