About this course

BEng in Civil Engineering, a civil engineering degree centred on the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure and the built environment. Core topics include Programming, Mathematical Modelling, and Engineering Design. Students undertake a substantial final-year project as part of their degree. The first year covers the foundations through Civil Engineering Design, Transport & Mobility Systems, Soil Mechanics and Engineering Geology, and Structural Mechanics. The second year progresses with Structural Analysis and Design, Materials and Applied Fluid Mechanics II, Geotechnical Engineering, and Surveying and Field Studies, alongside optional choices such as Introduction to Environmental Engineering, Intelligent Systems, and Introduction to Programming. The final year centres on advanced study including the Civil Engineering Project, Sustainable Civil Engineering Design, Structures and Materials, and Fluids and Soils III.
