About this course

BA in Classical Archaeology and Classical Civilisation, an archaeology degree focused on the history, art, and material culture of Greek and Roman civilisations. Core topics include Fieldwork and Communication & Writing. Students complete fifty days of fieldwork. The first year establishes fundamentals through World Archaeology (ii): From early states to globalization, Sites and Artefacts, and Introduction to Archaeology, alongside optional language modules in Greek and Latin. The second year progresses with Current Issues in Archaeological Theory and Research and Presentation Skills, with further options covering Roman Art and Architecture and Zooarchaeology. The final year involves independent research through A Detailed Study of a Selected Topic and Archaeology in the World. Optional modules across the degree allow specialisation in subjects such as Museum Archaeology and Geophysics for Archaeology.
