Entry requirements
A level: ABB (Previous study of a foreign language is preferred (not necessarily one of the named languages) but not required. Applicants may study two languages at beginner level and may seek advice from the departments concerned if needed.) IB: 34 points (A total of 16 points in three higher level subjects, with no higher level score below 5. Foreign language preferred.)
About this course
BA in Danish and Italian, a German and Italian degree focused on linguistic proficiency and cultural studies across northern and southern Europe. The course includes a compulsory year abroad spent immersing in the societies of both languages. The first year introduces foundational concepts through First Year Italian Language, Introduction to Italian Studies 1, Introduction to Italian Studies 2, and Introduction to Danish Language and Culture. The second year progresses language abilities via Second Year Italian Language and Intermediate Danish Language and Culture, alongside optional modules such as Italian Culture during Fascism and Issues in Italian Syntax. The third year consists of SELCS Year Abroad Term 1 and SELCS Year Abroad Term 2. The fourth year culminates in advanced study through Final Year Italian Language and Advanced Danish Language and Culture, supplemented by optional choices including Futurism in Italy and Dante: Divina Commedia.
