About this course

BA in Danish and Yiddish, a German and Modern Languages degree centred on Scandinavian and Jewish cultural and linguistic studies. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a compulsory year spent abroad in the third year and offers an optional final-year dissertation. The first year covers foundational language and culture through modules such as Introduction to Danish Language and Culture, Yiddish Language 1, Kita Alef: Introduction to Jewish Studies and Introduction to Nordic Studies 1. The second year continues language study with Yiddish Language 2 alongside options including Yiddish Women Writers, Intermediate Swedish Language and Culture and Nordic Literature in Context.
