A level: A*AA (A* in Mathematics required.) IB: 39 points (A total of 19 points in three higher level subjects including grade 7 in Mathematics with no higher level score below 5. The course will accept either ‘Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches’ or ‘Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation’ at higher level.)
About this course
BSc (Econ) in Economics with Study Abroad, an economics degree focused on analytical economic theory and quantitative methods. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Policy Analysis. Students spend the third academic year studying abroad at an overseas partner institution. The first year establishes core foundations through Economics, Applied Economics, Statistical Methods in Economics, Mathematics for Economics, and The Economist's Toolkit: Data, Code, and Communication. The second year advances core analytical capabilities with Microeconomics, Macroeconomic Theory and Policy, and Quantitative Economics and Econometrics, alongside optional modules such as History of Economic Thought, International Trade, Economics of Labour, Economics of Finance, Environmental Economics, Economics of Development, and Economics of Science. The third year consists entirely of study abroad modules. The final year offers advanced optional study in topics including Econometrics for Macroeconomics and Finance, Economic Policy Analysis, The Economics of Growth, Issues in Economic Development, The Economics of Money and Banking, Advanced Macroeconomics, Behavioural Economics, Economics of Migration and Job Search, Economics of Education, and Advanced Econometrics and Data Science.
