About this course
BA in Finnish and Hebrew, a Hebrew and Jewish Studies and Modern Languages degree centred on language acquisition and cultural studies. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a compulsory year spent abroad to immerse students in the target cultures and societies. The first year covers language foundations through Modern Hebrew Language 1, Kita Alef: Introduction to Jewish Studies and Finnish Language Level 1. The second year progresses with Modern Hebrew Language 2, Finnish Language Level 2a-Comprehension, Finnish Language Level 2b-Production and Introduction to Finnish Society and Culture. The third year consists of study abroad placements. The final year includes advanced study through Modern Hebrew Language 4 and Advanced Finnish Society and Culture, with an option to complete a Final Year Dissertation.
