About this course

BA in Hebrew and Italian, a degree centred on the study of Italian and Hebrew and Jewish Studies. Core topics include Research Methods. Students spend a year abroad immersed in the cultures and societies of both subjects. The first year covers language acquisition and cultural foundations through Kita Alef: Introduction to Jewish Studies, First Year Italian Language, Introduction to Italian Studies 1, and Introduction to Italian Studies 2. The second year continues linguistic development with Modern Hebrew Language 2 and Second Year Italian Language. The third year consists of a period abroad split across SELCS Year Abroad Term 1 and SELCS Year Abroad Term 2, or Hebrew and Jewish Studies Study Abroad 1 and Hebrew and Jewish Studies Study Abroad 2. The final year involves advanced study through Modern Hebrew Language 4 and Final Year Italian Language, alongside optional choices such as Dissertation, Final Year Dissertation, Biblical Hebrew Language 2, and Introduction to Rabbinic Hebrew.
