About this course

BA in Hebrew and Polish, a Russian Studies and Hebrew and Jewish Studies degree centered on language acquisition and cultural history. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a compulsory year spent abroad to immerse students in the cultures and societies of both languages. The first year covers language foundations through Modern Hebrew Language 1, Kita Alef: Introduction to Jewish Studies, and Polish Language Level 1. The second year continues linguistic progression through Modern Hebrew Language 2, Polish Language Level 2a-Comprehension, and Polish Language Level 2b-Production. The third year consists of study abroad placements. The final year focuses on advanced proficiency with Modern Hebrew Language 4, Polish Language Level 3a - Comprehension, and Polish Language Level 3b - Production, alongside optional modules such as Yiddish Language 2 and European Jewry and the Holocaust, plus the option to complete a Final Year Dissertation.
