About this course

BA in Hebrew and Russian is a degree program spanning Russian Studies and Hebrew and Jewish Studies. Core topics include Research Methods. Students spend a year abroad to immerse themselves in the cultures and societies of both language regions, supported by specialist library resources. The first year introduces foundational linguistic and cultural concepts through compulsory modules such as Modern Hebrew Language 1, Kita Alef: Introduction to Jewish Studies, Introduction to Russian Studies I, and Introduction to Russian Studies II. The second year continues language acquisition with Modern Hebrew Language 2 alongside optional choices covering history and minority languages. The third year consists of study abroad periods designated as Hebrew and Jewish Studies Study Abroad 1 and Hebrew and Jewish Studies Study Abroad 2.
