About this course
BA in Hungarian and Spanish, a modern languages degree centred on Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies and Modern Languages. Core topics include Research Methods and Critical & Analytical Thinking. The programme spans four academic years, including a period spent abroad in the third year, and is delivered across two separate departments. The first year covers foundational language acquisition and cultural studies through Hungarian Language Level 1, Spanish Language I and Literature and Memory. The second year progresses with modules such as Writing from the Other Europe, Hungarian Language Level 2a-Comprehension and Spanish Language II. The third year consists of an integrated year abroad for language immersion. The final year concludes with advanced studies including Hungarian Language Level 3b - Production, Hungarian Literature 3 and Spanish Language III, alongside optional choices like a Free-standing Dissertation and Spanish Film from the 1990s: New Ways of Seeing (II).
