About this course
BSc in Mathematics, a mathematics degree focused on advanced analytical, algebraic, and applied mathematical concepts. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling. The three-year duration involves studying varied aspects of the subject, with core modules building fundamental knowledge before allowing specialisation through numerous optional modules in later stages. The first year covers foundational concepts through Analysis 1, Analysis 2, Algebra 1, and Probability and Statistics. The second year progresses into more specialised topics including Analysis 3: Complex Analysis, Algebra 3: Further Linear Algebra, Modelling, ODEs and Approximation, and Fourier Methods and Linear PDEs. Optional modules in the second and third years allow students to explore diverse areas such as Fluid Mechanics, Number Theory, Curves and Surfaces, and Functional Analysis.
